In the 2018 Pitch Wars, she served as a mentor. She has also been mentored for the 2017 Pitch Wars. When it comes to publishing, she worked at Entangled Publishing as an editorial intern. She has had her work in journalism featured in many outlets, including Voice of America. She also was part of the Jiménez-Porter Writers’ House, a program of which she was a teaching assistant. She graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in the field of journalism. She knew from that early age that something that she wanted to do was harness writing’s power (in creative or any form) to try and connect her two different cultures that she both considered to be part of her identity.īrown attended the University of Maryland. The first thing that she loved when she was younger was writing. She immigrated from this West African nation with her family when she was young, relocating to central Maryland as a kid. She was born in Ghana in a place called Kumasi.
